Learn More About the Updated Roam Points Mechanism

Since Roam launched, over 14 Billion Roam Points have been issued, and more than 9 Billion points have been burned, making Roam Points a highly valuable reward for users. To maintain a fair and sustainable conversion rate from Roam Points to $ROAM and ensure that active users are rewarded appropriately for their contributions, Roam is introducing an upgraded points mechanism. This update is also designed to boost engagement and support long-term network growth. The new mechanism will be implemented starting from August 28, 2025 (PDT).

1. New WiFi Rewards

Public WiFi and Private WiFi:

Points increased from 100 → 200 Roam Points for adding a new WiFi.

• Reward: 100 Roam Points upon adding.
• Bonus: Extra 100 Roam Points unlocked when 5 different users check in at the WiFi.

OpenRoaming WiFi:

Points increased from 300 → 400 Roam Points for adding a new OpenRoaming WiFi.

• Reward: 300 Roam Points upon adding.
• Bonus: Extra 100 points unlocked when 5 different users check in at the network.

2. Check-In Rewards

Daily Check-In for Users:

Points increased from 10 → 15 Roam Points per Check-In, with no daily limit.

Check-In Rewards for WiFi Owners:

Points increased from 5 → 8 Roam Points per Check-In.

Daily cap:

• Roam Rainier MAX60: up to 240 Roam Points/day.
• Roam Baker MAX30: up to 120 Roam Points/day.
• OpenRoaming, Private WiFi, Public WiFi: up to 80 Roam Points/day.

3. WiFi Owner Daily Rewards

To ensure a strong and seamless WiFi experience, Roam uses an innovative WiFi health system that monitors private WiFi activity and gives it a status of “High,” “Medium,” or “Low” based on user Check-Ins. If a WiFi hotspot remains inactive for an extended period, its status gradually decreases and may eventually be marked as “Low.”

Daily rewards are given based on the WiFi health of private WiFi and OpenRoaming WiFi:

• High: reduced from 12 → 4 Roam Points/day
• Medium: reduced from 6 → 2 Roam Points/day

4. Welcome Bonus for Roam Miner Owners

All newly activated Roam Miners will now receive an increased welcome bonus, giving miner owners greater benefit right from the start.

• Roam Rainier MAX60: 3,000 → 6,000 Roam Points
• Roam Baker MAX30: 1,000→ 3,000 Roam Points

Under the new Roam Points mechanism, users can accumulate points more quickly by actively participating in building the network. In the long term, this mechanism aims to maintain a healthy conversion rate in the burning pool, keeping Roam Points valuable while increasing the scarcity and potential value of $ROAM.
