With the launch of Roam eSIM, we are thrilled to see both the number of Roam WiFi nodes and registered users rapidly rise. As of December 3, 2024, Roam has proudly claimed the top position in global Wi-Fi nodes as reported by DePIN Scan.
As the only Web3 IDP member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) OpenRoaming™ initiative, Roam feels both honored and humbled. Today’s achievements validate the effectiveness of our blockchain-based upgrade to the OpenRoaming™ protocol. For Roam, which is committed to building the world’s first decentralized, secure, and open wireless communication network, this milestone is a great source of motivation. It strengthens our resolve and commitment to the continued development of our future products.

Roam Community and Product Updates
We would like to take this opportunity to update everyone on Roam’s recent developments in both products and community initiatives:
1. The official launch of Roam Korean Telegram Community
We are thrilled to announce the Roam Korean Telegram community has been launched! (https://t.me/RoamKoreaOfficial ) , and we are now recruiting Roam Community Ambassadors in Korea. We look forward to welcoming like-minded individuals to join us!
2. Roam Discovery Program and New Partnerships
Roam is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Roam Discovery Program, which will feature a wide range of projects, many of which are backed by prominent institutions with funding of over tens of millions of dollars. The inclusion of these projects further highlights the value of the Roam network, especially within the Roam community. These partnerships are expected to bring additional income to Roam users, particularly miner owners via co-mining, airdrops, yields etc. We will be sharing more details about how to participate in these projects through official channels, so stay tuned.
Additionally, Roam has recently launched a TG mini-game for users to play using their Roam Points within the Roam App.
3. Roam Routers and Token Airdrop Opportunity
Currently, Roam only offers two Wi-Fi 6 routers for sale: the Rainier MAX60 and the Baker MAX30. Both routers deliver enterprise-grade security and performance for home users. The airdrop that was announced earlier, “Purchase Roam routers and hold MetaBlox NFTs before TGE to receive an airdrop of 20 million tokens,” is still valid for MAX60, MAX30 and NFT owners along with the owners of the Roam OG Miners which is the previous gen miner in the Roam hardware lineup.

Roam is addressing this challenge by expanding the OpenRoaming™ initiative, which was launched by the WBA in 2020 to provide seamless, secure WiFi access. Using Passpoint technology, OpenRoaming™ eliminates the need for repeated logins and ensures that data is encrypted, offering a level of security comparable to cellular networks.
As a WBA member, Roam enhances OpenRoaming™ by integrating advanced security protocols such as WPA-EAP and EAP-TTLS. These protocols create secure “tunnels” for user identity verification, protecting against potential threats like eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Roam is committed to user privacy, adhering to data protection regulations, and utilizing blockchain technology to ensure transparency and security. This approach allows Roam to provide users with secure, seamless connectivity while prioritizing their privacy and data integrity.
Beyond Connectivity: Roam’s Vision for the Telecom Data Layer
In October 2024, Roam unveiled its ambitious plan to develop a global Telecom Data Layer, a groundbreaking initiative that builds on Roam’s existing decentralized OpenRoaming™ network and utilizes a DID+VC-based identity verification system. This Telecom Data Layer will serve as the Physical Layer 1 (L1) for the DePIN ecosystem, providing a secure foundation for seamless data connectivity and sharing between people, devices, assets, and AI applications. The ultimate vision is to establish a unified Blockchain of Things (BoT) ecosystem.
The Telecom Data Layer will consist of four core modules: Roam Network, Roam Growth, Roam Discovery, and Roam Community. The first of these modules, Roam Growth, is set to launch significant updates in the near future, opening up more income opportunities for network builders and users alike. This solidifies Roam’s position as a leader in the DePIN space and strengthens its role in the evolving ecosystem.
